Four of My Favorite Fall Trends

Elyse Boldizar

Fall is most definitely here, and there’s an overwhelming number of fashion trends to show for it. While trends come and go – at a quicker pace each year it seems – there are some that feel a little more timeless. To help make sense of it all, I’ve narrowed down four trends that I’ve had my eye on.

Transitional crochet and homemade knits

Crochet was a big hit over the summer, and it seems to have followed us into fall. I’ve been inspired by Instagram creators like @nastja.crochets and @artbykaraleez who have contributed to the popularity of crochet by sharing their homemade designs. While there was more emphasis on tanks and tote bags during the warmer months, unique sweaters, vests and legwarmers have taken the spotlight. The more the garment looks like it was made with love, the better.

Baggy-fit pants

Pant trends change constantly.. High waisted, low waisted, skinny, flare — we’ve literally seen it all within the past year alone. Still, a loose fit seems to be a constant these days to pair with any cool tennies and sweater. Whether it's cargo, denim, or corduroy, a relaxed, skater-boy fit is a safe bet for this fall.

Vests, vests, vests

Vests have been a big thing for a few months now. Whether it's a structured suit vest over a tee or a cozy sweater vest, I think this trend is really fun. You can really lean into a preppy style by layering a vest over a button-up or over a dress for a more feminine take. There are so many ways to style vests and make the trend your own, which I love.

Colorful knits

The last fall trend that I’ve been loving is colorful knits. It’s such a cheerful way to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit. I pretty much live in sweaters as soon as it gets cold, so having sweaters that are really unique is a game changer. In addition to loud colors, exciting prints and textures make an otherwise basic sweater look effortlessly cool.
